Endeavour Sailors Experience First Regatta
Young sailors from the Endeavour programme experienced their first regatta during the Bermuda Optimist National and Open Championship at Sandys Boat Club at the weekend.
Fourteen graduates from the programme, which is dedicated to making sailing accessible to all regardless of socio-economic background, competed in the green fleet, representing six schools: Dellwood Middle School, Mount Saint Agnes Academy, Saltus Grammar School, Sandys Secondary Middle School, Warwick Academy and Whitney Institute Middle School.
“The sailors first started sailing during the Endeavour Middle School programme and were invited to the Endeavour Graduate programme to continue developing their sailing knowledge and skills in a variety of wind and weather conditions,” read a post on the Endeavour Facebook page.
“We love to see the amazing teamwork and sportsmanship in action as they support each other on and off the water.
“Heartfelt thanks to the Bermuda Optimist Dinghy Association [BODA] for their incredible support of Endeavour’s sailors and youth sailing in Bermuda.”
