Join National Certification & Apprenticeship Board
The Ministry of Economy and Labour invites members of the public to express an interest in joining the National Certification and Apprenticeship Board.
A Government spokesperson said, “As outlined by the Minister of Economy and Labour during his remarks to the house on 22 September 2023 regarding the amendments to the National Training Board Act 1997, the newly named National Certification and Apprenticeship Board will have more clearly defined functions and will be governed by legislation that reflects the current working environment.
“Clarifying the functions of the board will enable the establishment and delivery of apprenticeship education programs, the issuance of national certification credentials and the governance of skilled trades in Bermuda.
“It is imperative that the Government works in harmony with workforce stakeholders, and the new approach will be instrumental in achieving this goal.
“The National Certification and Apprenticeship Board is seeking new members to serve for one year, with the Minister responsible for the appointees.
“Candidates must have relevant experience in education and training, with industry knowledge being an important attribute. Interested parties should also have a sound regulatory and legal understanding and be well-versed in strategic planning and financial matters, a reputation for ethical conduct and a desire to keep up to date on best practices and industry trends.
“In order to fulfil its mandate, the National Certification and Apprenticeship Board is required to conduct research, inquiries and analysis and carry out extensive consultation to ensure all stakeholders, including employers and employees and organisations representing employers and employees.
“Expression of Interest forms must be submitted electronically by December 31 2023 and can be accessed online at forms.gov.bm/Departments/The-Cabinet-Office/Expression-of-Interest.
