Conor White Eyes President’s Cup Title

Conor White will look to cap off his superb year on a high note by winning the President’s Cup cycling road race tomorrow [December 17].
With defending champion Dominique Mayho unavailable, a new men’s champion will be crowned this year, with White, Kaden Hopkins, and Nicholas Narraway the chief contenders.
However, White does not expect the island’s top men’s trio to be quite at full tilt in the 56-mile race as they are technically still in their off-season.
“We’re not in the racing form we would be in during the summer months,” White told Bernews.
“We’ll still have a good ride, though. I haven’t been riding too hard lately so it will be interesting to see how the legs go!
“It will be a nice race to do with everyone while we’re back on the island for the Christmas break.”
White has enjoyed a superb season, winning bronze medals in the men’s time-trial at the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile, the Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, El Salvador, and gold at the Caribbean Cycling Championships in Guadeloupe.
“It will be nice to finish the year with win,” said the 24-year-old, who has won the President’s Cup once in 2021.
“It’s a shame Dom [Mayho] won’t be racing, but Kaden and Nic are back. I expect it to be a tough race.”
In the women’s race, Caitlin Conyers will be the favourite to retain the title she won last year.
