Entrepreneurs Invited To Ignite Open House
Ignite Bermuda is inviting “all aspiring, emerging, and established local entrepreneurs and community leaders” to an Open House on Wednesday, December 20th.
A spokesperson said, “Ignite Bermuda, the island’s award-winning accelerator programme, is thrilled to extend an invitation to all aspiring, emerging, and established local entrepreneurs and community leaders. Join us for an engaging Open House on the evening of Wednesday, December 20, at 5:30 pm.
“This is your chance to dive into interactive info sessions, engage in dynamic break-out groups, and gain insights about the Ignite Accelerator programme and the upcoming recruitment process for our 8th Cohort. Plus, you’ll get to meet our dedicated team and connect with a number of our alumni.”
Kisha Tyrrell, Cohort 7 participant and founder of Enzuri Beauty said, “Ignite has positioned me for success in ways I hadn’t thought of. The resources that they have provided, while there are some that I’m not ready for at the moment, just the fact that I have access to them and can get in contact with somebody when I’m ready, has been phenomenal.
“You have to take the leap; what else do you have to lose? …Sitting on that fence is not going to get you there.”
The spokesperson added, “Our Open House will take place at the heart of innovation, the Ignite Hub, located at 14 Wesley St. Please RSVP to hello@ignitebermuda.com to confirm your attendance and receive further details.
“We’re excited to announce that applications for our next cohort will open in January. Ignite is on the hunt for applications from local entrepreneurs and innovators across all industries, from the blue economy to health innovation, hospitality, retail, non-profit organizations, and beyond. No prerequisites, certain stage of business, or business plan is required. We’re committed to empowering local entrepreneurs and community leaders to continuously develop themselves and their businesses or organizations.
“We’re delighted to collaborate with the Bermuda Ocean Prosperity Programme and the Health Council Bermuda in their efforts to support and accelerate innovators in the sustainability and healthcare sectors.
“Ignite Bermuda was born out of a desire to support local innovators with the drive and commitment to grow and scale their businesses or organisations. In partnership with Eentrepreneurial Spark, we bring a truly global accelerator model to the ambitious entrepreneurs and community leaders of Bermuda.
“Since our first cohort in May 2019, our Core programme has empowered over 300 Bermudian entrepreneurs and community leaders with free bespoke office and event space, as well as a programme of support that focuses on building credible, backable, and investable entrepreneurs. By always putting the entrepreneur and community leader at the heart of everything we do, Ignite Bermuda is building a community of leaders poised to make a significant impact on the island and around the world.
“Ignite will be recruiting for its 8th cohort in January 2024 for our free, 5-month Accelerator Programme. Discover more about Ignite Bermuda’s Accelerator Programme online at www.ignitebermuda.com. Join us, and let’s ignite the future together!”
I applaud what Ignite Bermuda, but it should not be necessary.
Just last Friday Minister Jason Hayward said the implementation of government initiatives “has contributed to greater levels of economic activity and the expansion of Bermuda’s economy” and promising “a clear path to growth, employment and more significant economic development”.
Of course, that was just before a local company laid off 19 staff citing “the prolonged stagnation of Bermuda’s economy”.
