Live Audio & Parliament Order Of Business
[Updated with live audio] The House of Assembly will be in session on Friday [Dec 15] and statements listed on the Order Paper include the Mid-Year Financial Update and Tabling of the Pre-Budget Report & Report of the Fiscal Responsibility Panel, the 28th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties [COP 28]- United Arab Emirates from 30th November to 12th December 2023, Update on Road Paving & Equipment, Update on Air Service Development and CARICOM’S Draft Gender Strategy and the Forty-Sixth Meeting of the Council for Human and Social Development [COHSOD] on Gender.
In addition, the House of Assembly will debate the Corporate Income Tax [CIT] Act 2023 and the OBA plan to bring an amendment to the proposed Corporate Income Tax bill to ensure that any windfall “is properly deployed to address Bermuda’s crippling national debt and crumbling infrastructure,” which the Government responded to by saying it is “disappointing and perplexing that the Opposition is choosing to propose a last-minute amendment on an initiative that has been characterized by significant levels of collaboration and cooperation between the Government, private sector, and the Legislature.”
