Police Renew Appeal To Locate Missing Teens
The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] said they “continue to work with the Department of Child and Family Services to locate 16-year-old Ajahni Lema-Bascome and 15-year-old Raquel Sofia Sousa Sequeira.”
A police spokesperson said, “To give an idea of how their appearance can vary, two additional photos of the young man [with his hair braided and unbraided] plus one additional photo of the young lady, have been released to the public and the media today [Friday, 15th December 2023].
“16-year-old Ajahni was most recently reported missing over five weeks ago and is described as light complexioned, 5 feet 8 inches tall of slim build, weighing approximately 125 pounds, with dark coloured hair.
“15-year-old Raquel was most recently reported missing over a week ago and is described as light complexioned, 5 feet tall of slim build, with neck length black hair.
“The BPS understands that each missing teen is in contact with close relatives and friends.
“However, no information regarding their exact whereabouts has been provided.
“Apparently both are still in good health and are likely being aided by adults, even as active efforts to find them persist.
“The general public have reported sightings, which are appreciated and still encouraged.
“Unfortunately, many of those reports were called in days later and are of limited use by the time the information is received.
“As a reminder, any sightings of either missing teen should be reported immediately and harbouring a juvenile is an offence punishable under the law. Any individual[s] found committing such an offence should expect to be prosecuted.
“Members of our community with relevant information on the whereabouts of 16-year-old Ajahni Lema-Bascome as well as 15-year-old Raquel Sofia Sousa Sequeira are urged to contact the BPS Vulnerable Persons Unit at 295-0011 and/or the Department of Child and Family Services on 278-9111, at the earliest opportunity.”
