Masterworks Adds Five New Members To Board
Masterworks Museum has announced the addition of five new members to its board of directors, with Wayne Caines, Mandy Cawthorn Argenio, Kevin Dallas, Gabriela Brunner, and Flora Goodall all joining the board.
Executive Director, Risa Hunter shared: “I am delighted to have welcomed the five new Board Members over the past several months, whose variety of skills and experiences across the fields of creative industries, philanthropy, education, marketing, and management will advance our goal of building a more creative and connected island through exposure to the arts. Although each individual reflects a diversity of background, they all share a deep commitment to artistic expression and supporting Bermuda’s dynamic and vibrant community. I am very thankful to them and all of our Board Members for dedicating their time and sharing their passion to strengthen our Museum.”
Masterworks Museum Founder, Tom Butterfield stated: “We are truly grateful for the new Board members and their participation. One of life’s great satisfactions is finding those happy to join and give to the community. It is humbling and so greatly appreciated. We trust that their time with us will be equally as rewarding for them, as it is for us.”
Wayne Caines
The spokesperson said, “Born and raised in Bermuda, Wayne has been a key figure within the community taking on various leadership roles within the Bermuda Regiment, the Bermuda Department of Public Prosecutions, Digicel Bermuda, and SENIAC Consulting. Today, Wayne is President of Liberty Group Limited and Chairman of the Bermuda Tourism Authority, and sits on various boards, including Stevedoring Services, ILS Capital, and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Inc. In July 2017, he was elected as the MP for Devonshire North West and served as Minister of National Security from July 2017 to July 2020. Over the course of his career and life, Wayne has maintained a steadfast commitment to the people of Bermuda and as an arts enthusiast, believes in the power of creative endeavors to strengthen our community.
Mandy Cawthorn Argenio
“Mandy is a passionate art collector and museum patron, with professional experience in the contemporary art world, in non-profit management and fundraising, and in real estate project development. Her art career included positions in Christie’s Contemporary Department and at Hirschl & Adler Galleries in New York, and subsequently as Director of the Galleria Giorgio Persano in Milan. She was also Director of Advancement at Greens Farms Academy in Connecticut, and has since consulted probono in fundraising and development strategies for a variety of non-profits including Partners In Health and Worldwide Orphans.
Kevin Dallas
“With a background in marketing strategy and customer-led growth, Kevin is the Group Head of Marketing & Communications at Butterfield Group where his responsibilities include Butterfield’s UN Global Compact commitments to protecting the environment and supporting thriving communities. A graduate of Brown University, Kevin was a strategy consultant, Partner at Bain & Company, and Chief Product & Marketing Officer at Worldpay plc before returning home to Bermuda to lead the Bermuda Tourism Authority from 2017 to 2020. Kevin is a lifelong admirer and collector of contemporary art, and is excited by the potential of Masterworks as a catalyst for Bermuda’s creative eco-system and the wider community.
Gabriela Brunner
“With a multi-hyphenate career in several creative industries, Gabriela has a wealth of experience as a professional fine artist, designer, and arts educator. Alongside the creation of her own artworks which include paintings, sculptures, and panels, the passion to share her knowledge and to inspire others has motivated her to dedicate herself to art education of both youth and adults. Gabriela’s love for design is fulfilled in her exclusive productions of furnishings and commitments to large scale renovation projects and new house builds. Gabriela enjoys connecting with people as well as igniting the joy of learning in others, while motivating them to experience the bliss when creating art.
Flora Goodall
“Flora Goodall has a Bachelor of Fine Art History and Masters in Business for the Arts. She has over 20 years of experience and a deep interest in supporting the contemporary visual arts. Passionate also about art history and preservation, she has been fascinated by museum spaces since she was young. Having spent years immersed in gallery and museum spaces, Flora appreciates the power of these institutions to inspire, educate and foster important connections within the community.”
