Kaden Hopkins Finishes Second In Final Stage
Bermudian cyclist Kaden Hopkins finished the Essor Basque on a high after coming second in the fifth and final stage today [February 11].
Hopkins, who rides for French development team Vendée U, continued his encouraging form throughout the weeklong Essor Basque with another fine finish in the Circuit des Plages Vendéennes – a 123.3-kilometre race.
The 23-year-old was part of a three-rider breakaway in the final 10km but was at a disadvantage as the other two riders were part of the same Paris Cycliste Olympique team.
Victor Pagan won the race, with Hopkins runner-up and Allan Villemin third.
Hopkins, a team leader for Vendée U, came eighteenth in the first stage, eighth in the second, and ninth in the fourth.
