Sean Trott and Gayle Lindsay made winning starts to the Swan’s Running Club Legend Series after claiming top honours in the Ed Sherlock 8K Road Race today [February 11].
Trott, who won the series in 2019 and 2022, won the race in 27min 45sec, with Chayce Smith coming second in 28:00 and Thomas Mills third in 28:22.
Meanwhile, Lindsay, who is aiming for her sixth successive title, was the top female finisher, coming ninth overall in 31:31.
Stepanka Sprincova was the second female finisher in 34:19, and Megan Berry the third in 34:49.
The Legend Series aims to celebrate Bermuda’s race legends. Participants must compete in a minimum of three of the four races.
Up next is the Ray Swan Flat 8K in Pembroke on March 24, followed by the Ludwig Cann 10K in Warwick on April 7, and the Bermuda Healthcare “Sir” Stanley Burgess 5K in Devonshire on May 5.
The male and female runner accumulating the most points is the overall winner.
There are also age group winners in the Open [20-39], Masters [40+], Seniors [50+], Veterans [60+] and Legends [70+] categories.
