Smith & Olander 1st & 6th In Ironman Divisions
Karen Smith and Panzy Olander competed in the 2024 Ironman 70.3 Puerto Rico, which offered age group qualifying slots to the 2025 VinFast Ironman 70.3 World Championship in November 2025 in Marbella, Spain.
Smith finished first in the women’s 55 – 59 age group division, booking her ticket to Spain. She was the sixth female overall to finish, and was the 77th person to cross the line with a time of 5:10:48. She clocked 32:47 on the swim, 2:41:41 on the bike, and 1:48:37 on the run.
Olander competed in the women’s 30 – 34 age group division and finished sixth; she was the 32nd female to cross the line and was 226th overall with a time of 5:56:37. She completed the swim in a time of 38:48, with 2:54:59 on the bike, and 2:10:55 on the run.
