Bermuda Lose To Guinea In FIFA Series
Bermuda finished the FIFA Series with a 5-1 defeat to Guinea at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Michael Findlay side’s, who started their campaign with a 2-0 win over Brunei Darussalam at the same venue last Friday, fell behind in the eleventh minute after Morlaye Sylla opened the scoring.
Bermuda levelled four minutes later through Danté Leverock, driving the ball home after a Zeiko Lewis corner dropped invitingly at the defender’s feet.
However, they were reduced to ten men just before the interval when Leverock was shown a straight red card.
Sylla restored Guinea’s advantage in the 48th minute before Kandet Diawara made it 3-1 in the 53rd minute.
Guinea, ranked 76th in the FIFA world rankings, 95 places above Bermuda in 171st place, added a fourth through Jules Keita in the 61st minute before Mamadou Kané completed the scoring in the 70th minute.
The FIFA Series is a pilot project launched to provide international friendly matches between teams from different federations who do not usually get opportunities to play each other.
The inaugural edition featured five different series, taking place across five host countries.
