Local Athletes Win 19 Medals In Florida
Two local track clubs, the Bermuda Pacers and the DNA Track Club, represented the island with 15 youth athletes at the recent Speed Capital Track Meet in West Palm Beach, Florida.
The athletes flew on BermudAir, an airline operating from the LF Wade International Airport to Fort Lauderdale, with a spirit of determination and discipline, jetting back on the return flight this week with 19 medals in tow.
“BermudAir extends huge congratulations to the BNAA [Bermuda National Athletics Association] athletes from both Bermuda Pacers Track Club and Developing National Athletes [DNA] on their impressive showing,” Adam Scott, founder and chief executive of Bermudair, said.
“You can be proud of your accomplishments and representing Bermuda so well. Our team was delighted to support your transportation needs, and we look forward to our continued relationship with the BNAA.”
Athletes from the two clubs will be involved in the Skyport Magic Mile, powered by Pacers, tomorrow [March 2].
BermudAir has also partnered with organisers of the Skyport Magic Mile as a community sponsor, providing air travel credits for the track club.
Mr Scott added: “BermudAir is equally proud to support the Pacers’ Skyport Magic Mile and all the young athletes participating.
“This event provides another opportunity for youth talent on the island to shine. It may also plant seeds for future competition success in Bermuda or abroad.
“We hope all the athletes have fun and enjoy showcasing their skills on the track.”
