Donna Raynor Presents Medals At World Indoors
Donna Raynor presented her first medals as a World Athletics Council member at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow, Scotland, yesterday [March 2].
Raynor, who became the first Bermudian elected to the governing body last summer, awarded medals to the podium finishers in the women’s 60 metres final at the Emirates Arena.
Julien Alfred, of St Lucia, won the race in 6.98sec, with Ewa Swoboda, of Poland, coming second in 7.00, and Italy’s Zaynab Dosso placing third in 7.05.
Raynor, the former Bermuda National Athletics Association president, wrote on Facebook: “My first medal presentation as a World Athletics Council member at the World Indoor Championships.
“What an honour to present the gold medal to the 60m world champion from St Lucia. I love my sport.”
