WindReach’s Walk & Roll To Be Held On April 14
WindReach is gearing up to commemorate its 25th anniversary with the return of Inclusive Walk & Roll on April 14, 2024.
A spokesperson said, “WindReach’s Inclusive Walk & Roll is back! WindReach is kicking off their 25th Anniversary by hosting their signature inclusive walk on April 14, 2024! This family friendly event, will take place with the start and finish at the Flagpole on Front Street, Hamilton, with a 3K & 5K starting at 8:30 am.”
“We are thrilled to be celebrating our 25th Anniversary and bringing our Walk & Roll, which is normally held at Cooper’s Island, to the City of Hamilton. The accessible 3K route will take the participants west along Front Street to Albouy’ s Point and loop them back in an easterly direction to the Cabinet House. Participants that choose this route will do it twice for the 3K mileage.
“The 5K route which individuals can choose to walk, roll or run will head west along Pitts Bay Road, to St. Johns, before re-entering the city via Woodlands Rd, down Dundonald Street, to Parliament Street before finishing route via Front Street to the Flagpole.”
“This year’s Walk & Roll is the 19th edition! The history of this event started when the late Chris Wetherhill and his wife Chrissy had the inaugural Wetherhill Walk in support of WindReach. As time passed the Wetherhill Walk morphed into what we now know as, Walk & Roll. We owe our gratitude and thanks to the Wetherhill family for all that they have done in support of our facility!
“During 2019-2023 Jessica Lewis, Bermuda’s three-time Paralympian’s brainchild, Rolling for WindReach, was held both virtually and in-person instead of Walk & Roll, which helped us navigate the pandemic.
“We invite corporate groups, schools and families to sign up as a team. Thanks to our event sponsor Butterfield & Vallis we are able to provide complimentary registrations to 100 individuals with diverse support needs! There will also be goodie bags and T-Shirts available to the first 200 registrations.
