Land Tax Payments Due Dates Elapsed

The Tax Commissioner’s Office said they “wish to notify all individuals responsible for Land Tax payments that the designated due dates have now elapsed.”

A Government spokesperson said, “Please ensure payment is made promptly, or alternatively should you require a payment plan to facilitate the settlement of your obligations to the Tax Commissioner’s Office, please contact Janay White at 246-8786 or via email at jawhite@gov.bm.

“It is important to note that taxpayers with outstanding arrears who have not established payment arrangements will be subject to legal actions.

“Therefore, if you did not receive a demand notice for land tax, kindly reach out as a matter of priority, to our office via telephone at 246-8779, 444-1782, or 444-1783, or by email at taxenquiry@gov.bm to ensure your contact information is up to date.”

    Really? Has the Government actually sued anyone for arrears of land tax in the last 20 years?

    Well if they got the statements out with due notice rather than a couple of weeks before the drop dead date they might have a point. Great to remind us of our obligation, maybe they should consider their own first.

      Land tax is due every 6 months (June and December) and I tend to get my notices about half way through (March and September).
