Special Olympics To Host 2nd Invitational Games
Special Olympics Bermuda will host its Second Invitational Games at the Flora Duffy Stadium on Monday [April 15].
Held in partnership with the annual Department of Education Adaptive PE Sports Day, the meet starts at 10 am and will feature assisted and unassisted track and field events.
Participants will be primary school age and above from the Bermuda Public School Service [BPSS], Special Olympics Bermuda, disability organisations and the community.
Some of the track events will serve as qualifiers for the Special Olympics Celebration at the USATF Bermuda Grand Prix at the Flora Duffy Stadium on April 28.
A Special Olympics Bermuda spokesperson said: “The event will commence with a traditional Special Olympics Pre-Game ceremony to include a formal welcome, law enforcement honour guard, athlete parade and Special Olympic torch lighting followed by the day’s events and award presentations throughout.”
