Swim, Walk Or Run For Multiple Sclerosis
The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Bermuda will host the 7th year the Swim-a-thon fundraiser event on Saturday [April 6] at the Bermuda National Sports Centre Aquatics and Fitness Centre.
A spokesperson said, “April 6th, 2024 will bring swimmers, walkers and runners to the Bermuda National Sports Centre Aquatics and Fitness Centre, for The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Bermuda’s [‘MS Society’] biggest fundraiser of the year.
“For the 7th year the Swim-a-thon has provided local swimmers and those who fundraise on their behalf, with the opportunity to contribute to the well being of MS Society members.
“2023 brought some changes with renaming the event [after a former much loved MS Society Committee member], the Stanley Ingham Memorial Swim-a-thon and the introduction of the ‘Walk/Run for MS’ event. This successful fundraising addition to the day’s activities gave members, family, friends and anyone else not swimming, the chance to get some fresh air and exercise on the North field next to the pool.
“All funds go directly towards assisting members with expenses associated with medications, physiotherapy, mental health therapy, accessibility equipment and raising awareness on this chronic illness with the Society’s members, medical professionals and the general public.
“Swimmers can participate, completing as many laps as they wish and at any time between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. The Walk/Run for MS will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am.”
