16 Complete Executive Certificate Programmes
16 nonprofit professionals complete international certificate programmes from two distinguished U.S. universities: Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business and Villanova University’s School of Professional Studies.
A spokesperson said, “The Nonprofit Alliance of Bermuda is pleased to announce that 16 nonprofit professionals representing 13 local charities participated in international certificate programmes from two distinguished U.S. universities: Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Business and Villanova University’s School of Professional Studies. In November 2023, six individuals completed Northwestern University’s Nonprofit Finance: Toolkit for Leaders. In May 2024, ten individuals received their certificates in Principles of Fundraising from Villanova University.

“Principles of Fundraising: Arlene Brock, Natalie Chaves, Emilie Faulkner-Meek, Sloane Johnson, Mychel Jones, Maria McLeod Smith, Deborah Narraway, Jennifer Phillips, Pahn-ya Ratteray and Stacey-Lee Williams.
Participants in the Northwestern University course commented on the impact of the programme, “I implemented some of the finance management strategies into our accounting practices right away and this has been very helpful to better analyze financial trends “, and another stated, “This event increased my understanding of financial documents, best practices and best of all the budgeting process.”
Those who gained their certificate in Principles of Fundraising from Villanova University shared, “As a newly appointed Executive Director with limited direct experience in the field of Development, Villanova’s Principles of Fundraising course was a great introduction to all aspects of fundraising for a nonprofit organisation, providing me with the necessary tools and confidence to successfully plan and execute vital fundraising efforts.” Another added, “As a person transitioning into doing social impact work in the nonprofit sector, the Fundraising Principles Certificate allowed me to gain an understanding of the goings-on inside a nonprofit, with a deeper understanding around managing fundraising activities.”
