Jah-Nhai Perinchief Places 4th In Jamaica

Jah-Nhai Perinchief continued his qualification push for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer with a fourth-place finish at the inaugural Jamaica Athletics Invitational at the National Stadium in Kingston on Saturday [May 11].

Perinchief posted a leap of 16.51 metres in his final attempt in the men’s triple jump.

Jamaica dominated the event, with Jayden Hibbert, who won the triple jump at the USATF Bermuda Grand Prix at the Flora Duffy Stadium last month, coming first with a best jump of 17.57.

Jordan Scott was runner-up [16.84] and Obrien Wasome rounded out the podium [16.62].

Perinchief, 26, placed second at the USATF Bermuda Grand Prix with a wind-assisted jump of 17.13.

He needs to hit the qualifying standard of 17.22 to reach Paris.
