Warwick Football Academy To Play In Texas
The Warwick Football Academy [WFA] Under-16 boys’ team have been invited to participate in the inaugural Texas International Cup tournament in Arlington, Texas, in June.
The tournament, which runs from June 27 to 30, will feature teams from under-9 to under-19, including Liga MX academies from Mexico and top clubs from the United States.
Matches will be played at the Harold Patterson Sports Centre.
As part of the tournament, teams will be able to attend Copa America watch parties at the Texas Live entertainment venue.
The WFA players will visit college campuses during the tour and meet with coaches from top collegiate football programmes in the greater Dallas area.
Richard Todd, the WFA technical director, who will travel with the team, wrote on Facebook: “The invite to attend the tournament was extended through the network of contacts and partner programmes that WFA work with to help provide development opportunities and experiences for our players.
The WFA Under-15 boys’ team finished their domestic season defeated, winning the league title, Knockout Cup and Lee Holder Cup.
