Bermuda Archers Return To Action In Turkey
Bermuda archers Camerin Pickering and Jaydon Roberts reached the elimination round of the men’s 70 metres recurve competition at the Antalya Final World Qualification Tournament, which concluded in Turkey yesterday [June 17].
Pickering lost 7-3 to Nguyen Minh Duc, of Vietnam; meanwhile, Roberts was defeated 6-0 by Tanapat Pathairat, of Thailand.
Bernard Wade III finished 108th in the qualification round with a score of 557 and did not advance to the elimination round.
Bermuda was unable to secure an individual spot for the Olympic Games in Paris this summer; however, Pickering remains eligible for a Minimum Qualification Score berth after achieving the qualification score of 640 on two occasions.
The team of Pickering, Roberts and Wade III are still in contention for one of the remaining two team spots for Paris.
Pickering, Roberts and Wade will compete at the Hyundai Archery World Cup Stage III in Antalya, Turkey, from today until Sunday.
Meanwhile, Robin Selley will be in action in the women’s 70 metres recurve competition.
