PLP Praises Government’s Environmental Efforts
The Progressive Labour Party praised the Government and Home Affairs Minister Walter Roban on World Environment Day “for making significant achievements in environmental sustainability and infrastructure development.”
A spokesperson said, “One of our landmark achievements is the completion of the solar project on the airport finger, a crucial step towards increasing our reliance on renewable energy. This project, along with the electrification of Bermuda’s bus fleet and the installation of solar panels on government buildings, showcases our dedication to sustainable energy solutions. Additionally, the introduction of electric vehicle [EV] charging stations around the island has supported the transition to cleaner transportation options.
“We have also made considerable progress in improving our sewage infrastructure, particularly in St. George’s. The upgrade will put an end to sewage being dumped in the waters of the East End, significantly enhancing our environmental standards, preserving our marine ecosystems, and protecting the quality of our water and beaches in St. George’s.”
Jr Minister of Home Affairs Lindsay Simmons stated, “The PLP government has demonstrated our commitment to sustainable development not just on World Environment Day but from day one since taking office. The initiatives we have spearheaded protect the environment, create jobs and promote economic growth all while building a greener and cleaner Bermuda for all.”
‘As we observe World Environment Day, we encourage each of us to do our part to protect our environment. As your government, we will continue to drive progressive environmental change through initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and improve the quality of life for all Bermudians,” the Jr. Minister concluded.

The PLP praises Government? Talk about hitting the bottom of the barrel to have to self praise.
Self love is best practiced in private!
Yes. It’s so classless, it’s verging on bizarre. Hilarious.
This is hilariously weak even for the PLP.
All energy is sustainable. There also seems to be an endless supply of underage children mining rare earths in Africa. Rare earths are used in EV batteries, like in Government EVs and our 70 electric buses. Think of those children in Africa who are so happy to have jobs working under conditions that no Bermudian who supports “going green” wants to think about. Kids, we salute you! Dig, baby, dig.
85% of our tax dollars go to administration paperwork and watching the clock.
Now we can see where the other 15% goes too ,swinging the lead, also sitting in an airconditioned room blowing their own trumpet.
Of course you should be real proud of your selves, by the way ,did you get planning approval?
