Rick Wright’s Triumph Beat Tormenta In Cup
Rick Wright’s Greenville Triumph defeated Tormenta FC 3-1 away thanks to two goals from Lyam Mackinnon in the USL Jägermeister Cup yesterday [June 9].
Leo Castro scored early for the Triumph before Austin Werner equalised for the home side.
MacKinnon struck twice in the final ten minutes to cushion Greenville’s lead in the East pod of the competition.
A former Saltus Grammar School student, Wright made appearances for the Bermuda and United States national teams.
He was appointed head coach of Greenville at the start of the season, having served as assistant coach for several years.
Greenville are at home to Charlotte Independence in the League One Cup next Wednesday [June 19].
