Jamin Hodgkins Named In Canada Squad
Bermudian rugby union player Jamin Hodgkins is among 34 players named in the Canada men’s squad for the Ottawa summer fixtures against Scotland and Romania.
Hodgkins, who has been playing for the Atlantic Privateers in Canada, spent the second half of last season with Bridgend Ravens in the Welsh Indigo Premiership.
The former Warwick Academy student, who is yet to play for Canada, will hope to be involved when Canada face Scotland next Saturday [July 6] and Romania on July 12.
Head coach Kingsley Jones told the Rugby Canada website: “This is the start of our pathway to [the 2025] Rugby World Cup qualification.
“We have a balance of players whose international experience will be crucial as we take on a strong Scotland team with a short runway for preparation, and some new faces who have earned the call up to the national team with their fantastic performances in the MLR [Major League Rugby] or with clubs overseas and their massive growth and improvement through the Pacific Pride programme.
“Our depth has grown, making this a tough selection, which is pleasing from a coaching point of view.”
