Boccia player Yushae DeSilva-Andrade has qualified for the Paralympic Games in Paris this summer.

DeSilva-Andrade, 30, has earned sufficient ranking points to reach the Paralympics, which run from August 28 to September 8.

“It’s official – I have qualified for the Paralympic Games 2024 in Paris!” DeSilva-Andrade, who competed at the Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016, wrote on Facebook.

“A huge thank you to everyone who has supported my journey to Paris.

“In particular, my family, coach Larry Hunt, coach Troy Farnsworth, and the Ministry of Youth and Sport for their financial support and recognition of my elite sports ventures and accomplishments.”

DeSilva-Andrade, who finished last year with a world ranking of fourth in the women’s individual BC1 Division, will return to action at the Povoa de Varzim World Cup in Portugal next month.

Last year, she won medals in three World Cup competitions: gold at the Fortaleza World Cup in Brazil, silver at the World Challenger in Santiago, Chile, and silver at the Montreal World Cup.

She also won silver at the Parapan Am Games in Santiago.
