U19 Female Players Travel To Leeward Islands
The Bermuda Cricket Board [BCB] via an MOU with the Leeward Islands Cricket Board [LICB], was invited to submit four U19 female cricket players who are attending a 10-day training camp and team selection trial for the Leeward Islands U19 women’s team from June 16 to June 27th.
A spokesperson said, “The opportunity was facilitated by the BCB High-Performance Chair, Mr. Allan Douglas Senior with the support of Ms. Terrilyn Paynter and Shayne Hollis [coaches] and tour chaperone Ms. Lisa Card.
Chloe Card, Ja’Shay Trott, Shane Hollis – Coach, Amara Richards – Selected for LICB U19 National Select Team, Lisa Card – Tour Chaperon to the Leeward Islands.
“Ms. Terrilyn Paynter and tour chaperone Ms. Card traveled with the four players to St. Kitt’s & Nevis where the players received advanced coaching and match play. After the 11-day camp and trial, the Leeward Islands have selected Ms. Katherine Rosario-Bean and Ms. Amara Richards to join the Leeward U19 National Select team for further developmental training and match play in Trinidad. The two players will play in a U19 Cricket West Indies tournament from July 1st to July 13th.
“Ms. Chloe Card and Ms. Ja’Shay Trott, have been recommended to return to the Leeward Islands for future opportunities. The two youthful training members will have at least 2 to 3 more years to join the LICB Select team, based on their ages.
“The BCB is very proud of the first-ever U19 delegation and congratulates each of them for making the sacrifice to challenge themselves in a very competitive environment. We also wish to thank the coaching staff for their on-island training and Ms. Lisa Card for volunteering to chaperone the team.
