Khano’s Smith’s Rhode Island On Hot Streak
Khano Smith’s Rhode Island FC defeated North Carolina 2-1 at home in the USL Championship yesterday [July 27].
Goals from Mark Doyle in the 74th minute and Zachary Herivaux in the 84th minute stretched Rhode Island’s unbeaten run to seven games, including three straight wins.
Mikey Maldonado opened the scoring for North Carolina in the 30th minute.
Smith, a former Bermuda and New England Revolution winger, was appointed as head coach and general manager of Rhode Island in March last year.
Rhode Island are away to Detroit City on Saturday [August 3].
