OBA Announce Dion Smith As C27 Candidate
The One Bermuda Alliance announced that Dion Smith will be their candidate for Constituency 27 Warwick North Central.
A spokesperson said, “A father of two, Dion is a technology expert and the Managing Director of Smith Technologies Ltd. A successful entrepreneur, Dion is a past board director of the Adult Education School and a former Bermuda Telecommunications Commissioner and the Regulatory Authority of Bermuda. Professionally, he embraces a ‘do it right the first time’ philosophy when it pertains to work and customer service.”
“It is the core of my business success,” he shares.
Mr. Smith said he is passionate about strengthening the economy, “Government needs to focus on our economy, but it should be done by instituting a local economy—an economy that does not fall under the same umbrella as IB.”
Speaking on his vision for Warwick North Central, he said, “Roadside and hedges cleaned, either by owners individually or in partnership with the Government. Our roads that are stressed need street lighting and road reflectors. Sometimes called raised pavement markers, the reflectors are designed to help control traffic while encouraging safer driving conditions. Constructed from either durable plastic or ceramic, these road reflectors are especially important for making traffic lanes more visible at night. Another aspiration is to have underground electricity cables instead off overhead poles and exposed electrical wires.”
The OBA spokesperson said, “On a national level, Dion believes in order for the country to regain the prosperity it once enjoyed, there needs to be collective buy-in.
“Bermuda needs to concentrate on a National strategic plan that the majority agree with, creating transparency and a vison for the country. This would include referendums, so everyone is included in decision making,” Mr Smith said.
Constituency 27 Warwick North Central is currently held by PLP MP Minister Lt/Col David Burch.
Congratulations on your nomination!
CV Jim Woolridge wrote in his book some famous words. “Those little white boys don’t mind you being in charge as long as they can tell you what to do! He spoke the truth since he was around you obaUBPeeee so much.
Yes congratulations for being another FLIPFLOP DION.
Please explain what you mean, Billy.
OBA placing more black surrogates. For a party that’s 95% white it makes you wonder why the white members don’t put their names forward.
You really aren’t the smartest are you? What is Bermuda’s make up lmao I’ll wait…..just silly regurgitation at this point smh
Jamel’s post is designed to divide. Division will divide a country and no country will prosper if it is divided.
“Division will divide a country and no country will prosper if it is divided”
A house divided against itself cannot stand.
95% White? I encourage you to go to the OBA site and take a look.
The candidates are black but the party is all white stop trying to use racial tactics. All it will do is have you losing every election.
“stop trying to use racial tactics”
Yes. Please do.
Why do you say Dion is a surrogate? I know Dion and I would be very surprised if he agreed to be a surrogate to anyone.
Why are you so racist?
Can’t you look past the colour of someones skin?
Why is that such a huge factor in everything in Bermuda?
Really? Sigh.
Yeah exactly that’s how people feel after 20+ years of PLP nothing lmfao…
Ok Robinson continue packing those shelves at the market place.
If he’s running against Burch, best of luck.
I’ll keep my rude comments blank like the current MP.
If the Lt. Col. keeps his word, Dion will not be running against him at the next election. It was last December when Lt. Col. Burch announced his plan to retire at the next General Election.

Dion won’t beat the PLP in Cedar Hill.
Why do you say that “Dion won’t beat the PLP in Cedar Hill”?
Because I don’t think he will beat the PLP in Cedar Hill.
