IDA-Bermuda U13 To Play In Northern Ireland
The International Development Academy-Bermuda Under-13 boys’ team will play in the Super Cup Northern Ireland football tournament for the third successive year.
The team comprises of Xavier Thomas-Bassett, Adam Barritt, Darshan Dhesi, De’Ari Trott, Conor Thomas, Ja’Zhari Ingham, Darien Lambert, Tyler Pickering, the captain, Conor O’Sullivan, Sami Luber, Jace Postlethwaite, Chavi Pacheco-Hill, Cillian McGlynn, Shiloh Anderson, Harry Bingham, Adaj O’Brien, Cairo Burgess and Devin Hughes.
Travelling as coaches are Richard Todd, Tyrell Burgess and Chelsea Harvey. Tiffanie Todd is the team’s manager.
IDA-Bermuda, who arrived in Belfast yesterday, have been drawn in group C of the minor division alongside Plymouth Argyle, Coleraine and Crusaders.
Todd wrote on Facebook: “The International Development Academy-Bermuda travel programme provides opportunities for select teams and individual players to experience a high level of competition at tournaments and events in various countries.
“The youth football tournament has built a reputation as one of the most revered and highly respected competitions.
“This elite competition provides opportunities for boys and girls from across the world to participate in a weeklong football extravaganza, testing their abilities against top-level teams and academies from Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.”
IDA-Bermuda will face the Antrim County Schools Select and Surf Select today and tomorrow before the tournament’s opening ceremony on Sunday.
The tournament format has four groups of four teams playing in preliminary matches from Monday to Wednesday before each team advances to compete for a designated championship based on the final group placement.
Also representing IDA-Bermuda at the tournament will be Isaac Todd, competing in the Junior Division with FC America, who have been drawn in group A alongside Rangers, Fermanagh County Select and St Patrick’s Athletic Football Club.
Ashalay Simons will represent IDA-Bermuda, playing for Surf National Select in the girls’ Premier Division.
Simons was identified after being selected by IDA-Bermuda to travel to the Surf National ID combine in San Diego in February.
Surf have been drawn in group A alongside Manchester United, Aston Villa and USSSA-All American Select.
IDA-Bermuda players Ny’Ori Dill and Roman Wilkinson will travel to Tangier, Morocco, to participate in the Surf Cup Morocco tournament.
