Jah-Nhai Perinchief Qualifies For Olympics
Bermuda triple jumper Jah-Nhai Perinchief has qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris.
He will join seven other Bermuda athletes at the Games – triathletes Dame Flora Duffy, Erica Hawley and Tyler Smith; rower Dara Alizadeh; sailor Adriana Penruddocke; and swimmers Emma and Jack Harvey.
Perinchief, who is ranked 30th in the world, opened his outdoor campaign at the USATF Bermuda Grand Prix at the Flora Duffy Stadium in April, coming second with a wind-assisted jump of 17.13 metres.
His Olympic build-up has continued with a pair of fourth-place finishes at the Jamaica Athletic Invitational Meet in Kingston in May and USATF New York Grand last month.
The 26-year-old produced the finest performance of his career at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022, winning bronze with a jump of 16.92.
The Olympics runs from July 26 to August 11.
