Clean Air Amendment Bill Public Consultation
The Ministry of Home Affairs reminded the public of the” ongoing opportunity to provide feedback on the Clean Air Amendment Bill during the public consultation period, which ends on August 31, 2024.”
A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry emphasizes the importance of community involvement in shaping legislation that will significantly impact air quality and environmental health. Once the consultation period concludes, the Department of Environment & Natural Resources [DENR] will carefully review all feedback on the draft bill, with contributions from the Attorney General’s Chambers. The revised Bill is expected to be tabled later in September 2024.
“Public participation is a cornerstone of democratic governance and is essential for crafting effective and comprehensive legislation. The Ministry urges individuals, businesses, and organizations to share their views and help shape a future with cleaner air and a healthier environment.
“Individuals and businesses who wish to contribute their thoughts can visit www.forum.gov.bm to submit their ideas for the Clean Air Amendment Bill Public Consultation. Feedback can also be sent directly via email to pollutioncontrol@gov.bm.”
