Minister Tinee Furbert: Look Out For Seniors
“As we prepare for the approaching hurricane, I urge everyone to look out for the most vulnerable among us, particularly our seniors,” Minister of Youth, Social Development & Seniors Tinee Furbert said.
Minister Furbert said, “They are the cornerstone of our society, and it is our responsibility to ensure their safety and well-being during challenging times.
“Before the storm hits, please take a moment to check in on the seniors in your neighbourhood. Ensure they have the necessary supplies, know their emergency contacts, and have a plan in place. Small acts of kindness, such as helping to secure their homes or providing them with essential items, can make a significant difference.
“After the hurricane passes, it is equally important to follow up and ensure they are safe and well. Offer assistance with any post-storm clean-up, help them contact their loved ones, and ensure that they have access to any necessary medical care or resources.
“In times of crisis, our strength lies in our unity and compassion. Let us embody the spirit of Bermudian togetherness by taking care of one another, especially our cherished seniors.
“Thank you for your vigilance, kindness, and community spirit. Stay safe and take care.”
