Police: No Firearms Incident At TCD
The Bermuda Police Service said they are “aware of a social media message being circulated, reporting a firearms incident had taken place at TCD this morning” noted that it was untrue.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service is aware of a social media message being circulated, reporting a firearms incident had taken place at TCD this morning. We wish to inform the public that this is untrue. However out of an abundance of caution, after receiving the message, police were dispatched to the area to provide reassurance to the people in the area.
“The spreading of disinformation is unhelpful and may cause unnecessary anxiety to people in the community. We urge the public not to engage in such practices. Should a significant event take place, the public will be informed by police via proper media communications.”
