Aeziah Divine Races At Thruxton In UK
Bermudian motorcycle racing driver Aeziah Divine is encouraged by his progress after competing in the R&G British Talent Cup [BTC] round six at the Thruxton Circuit in Andover, Hampshire, at the weekend.
The 14-year-old, representing the Sencat Talent Team/Mortimer Racing – Victoria House Academy in the Moto3 class competition, qualified in 24th for the first race on Saturday in which he finished 20th.
Qualifying in eighteenth for the second race on Sunday, Divine was battling for thirteenth before hitting the inside of the kerb, unsettling his bike and causing his air vest to activate and pushing him off his bike.
It resulted in his first disqualification of the season. He was in seventeenth place at the time.
“I’m not too upset as I had my best R&G British Talent Cup race so far and it shows where I am capable of running,” Divine wrote on social media.
“I’m also happy to have walked off the track without any injuries.”
Divine, competing as a guest rider, added: “This weekend I felt a lot more comfortable on the Moto3 and am starting to get more out of the bike.
“It’s also helping me to learn the Bennetts British Superbike Championship circuits faster as I haven’t ridden any of them before.
“We have a five-week break until we’re back out at Oulton Park next month.
“Being able to continue in BTC means a lot to me so thanks to the crew at Mortimer Racing – Victoria House Academy for another great race round and making it happen.”
Divine is sponsored by the Department of Sport and Recreation, Mailboxes, Aries Sports Centre, Butterfield & Vallis, AceBoy Sports Group, VIBE 103, John Carreiro Sr, and the Joaquin, Fray, and Marshall families.
