Raynor On ‘Awesome’ Olympics Experience
[Written by Stephen Wright]
Donna Raynor has experienced a busy and rewarding few weeks at the Olympic Games in Paris as part of her role on the World Athletics Council.
Among Raynor’s many highlights were presenting a gold medal to United States athlete Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone, who won the women’s 400 metres hurdles and met rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg, who has become a fixture at the Paris Games.
“Being part of the medal ceremony [on Friday] at the Olympics was beyond my wildest dream,” Raynor, the former Bermuda Athletics Association president, wrote on social media.
“Meeting and taking photos with some of the athletes I admire was awesome.”

Raynor, the first Bermudian elected to the governing body, added: “Being part of the World Athletics Council is taking me to new levels in this sport I didn’t think I would ever reach.
“Sitting on many committees and being asked to chair a committee is beyond where I thought I could go.
“Just putting little Bermuda on the map is so fulfilling, especially as a woman. What a day to remember.”
