Barnes Begins Competing In Xtream Rock Island
Bermudian karter Scott Barnes embarked on his campaign at the Xtream Rock Island Grand Prix, which is the largest kart street race in North America.
In the Briggs 206 Masters division, Barnes started strong, securing the second-fastest time of 37.849 in the first practice session. However, qualifying proved more challenging, as he clocked a fastest lap of 39.750, placing him 12th on the grid. Barnes bounced back in the heat race, securing third place with a time of 6:16.604.
The King of The Rock – Briggs 206 category saw Barnes finish with the 13th-fastest time in the initial practice. Qualifying saw him clock the 20th-fastest time of 36.887. He improved his position in the heat race, finishing ninth with a 10-lap time of 6:16.715.
In the Margay Ignite Masters class, Barnes displayed his speed, clocking the fifth-fastest qualifying time of 38.150. Unfortunately, he faced a setback in the heat race, completing only six laps.
