Coast Guard Attends Two Jet Ski Accidents

The Coast Guard handled two separate jet ski accidents late last month, including a collision with a boat and a collision between two jet skis.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre [BMOC] spokesperson said, “On Monday 26th August at 6:30pm, Bermuda Radio was advised by Fire Dispatch that an ambulance had been requested as a jet ski accident had occurred in the vicinity of Diving Board Island, Great Sound. Bermuda Coast Guard were en route.

“The accident involved a jet ski colliding with a boat and resulted in the rider suffering a suspected broken arm. The injured person was transported to Crow Lane Johnny Barnes Corner by Coast Guard to meet with the ambulance.

“On Tuesday 20th August at 12:30pm, Bermuda Radio was informed by the Coast Guard that two jet skis on a guided tour had collided. The incident happened close to Watford Bridge. Coast Guard were on scene immediately after the incident and two people were recovered from the water and taken to the Coast Guard Headquarters, Scenic House. An ambulance was required to take one of the ski riders to hospital.”
