Minister Congratulates Smith, Jones & West
The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Owen Darrell extended his congratulations to Camiko Smith, Nick Jones and Eric West, the three Bermudians who recently qualified for the upcoming Butterfield Bermuda Championship.
The Minister — who attended the qualifying event at the Port Royal Golf Course — said he was ecstatic that three talented Bermudians will be featured in the tournament which takes place in November.
Minister Darrell said, “On behalf of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, I am thrilled to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Camiko, Nick and Eric, each of whom have made it into the Butterfield Bermuda PGA Championship!
“This is a huge achievement and a testament to their incredible skill, dedication, and hard work. Their journey to the PGA stage is not just a personal triumph but a source of immense pride for our entire community.”
Minister Darrell continued, “Watching these elite athletes compete at such a high level is inspiring and shows us what can be achieved with perseverance and passion. As Minister, I had my dual hats on for Tourism and Sport, and this was a proud day for me.
“The Ministry has been steadfast and committed to providing support for all our elite local athletes, and we will continue investing in our sports stars so that they can successfully compete at the world level. I hope the community will join me in wishing Comiko, Nick and Eric all the best of luck as they represent Bermuda on the grand stage in November. And we wish them continued success and many more achievements in their golfing careers.”
The Minister also recognised the three APGA tournament qualifiers, Adam Perry, Quinton Sherlock and Scott Roy.
