Minister Darrell Supports Women’s Hockey Team
Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport Senator Owen Darrell extended his support to the Women’s National Field Hockey team.
A Government spokesperson said, “As Bermuda prepares to host the Women’s Pan American Cup Challenge from September 21st to 28th at the National Sports Centre, the Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport, Senator the Hon. Owen K. Darrell, JP, extended his support to the Women’s National Field Hockey team.
“This thrilling seven-day event will feature international teams from across the region, and Minister Darrell encourages the public to rally behind our athletes.”
Minister Darrell said, “Our women have trained incredibly hard for this moment, and I know they will make Bermuda proud. This is a fantastic opportunity for our island to not only host this premier sporting event, but also to showcase our talented athletes.”
The spokesperson said, “And the Minister encourages the public to attend the matches and cheer on our team as they represent Bermuda.”
Minister Darrell said, “I’m encouraging our community to attend the NSC and show their support, because it makes all the difference to our athletes. When our team sees Bermudians cheering them on, it fuels their energy and motivates them to perform at their best. It also shows the world that we are a passionate island that values sport and our athletes.”
Minister Darrell concluded, “To our Women’s National Team, you have the full support of the Bermuda public. Play with strength, integrity and pride. You’ve already achieved so much, and we look forward to seeing you excel in this competition.”
