Police Renew Appeal To Locate Janet Niklaus
[Updated with video] The police renewed their appeal for the public’s assistance in locating 70-year-old Janet Niklaus, who was last seen walking west on Middle Road in Southampton on Friday [August 30].
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service continues efforts to locate Ms. Janet Niklaus.
“Thank you to those individuals who have so far come forward with information on her whereabouts, as well as those who continue to physically assist with the ongoing search.
“We are renewing our appeal for residents of the Whale Bay Road, Southampton area, who have CCTV systems, to please check your devices to see whether they may have captured any images of Ms. Niklaus from around 8:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024.
“Ms. Niklaus, a Bermudian National, is described as being 5’ 10” in height, medium built, dark complexioned, with short, grey, thinning hair.
“Updated information is she was last seen walking west on Middle Road near the junction with Whale Bay Road, Southampton shortly after 8:00 a.m. on Friday, August 30, 2024.
“When last seen she was wearing a light blue or grey, knee length dress. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 70-year-old Janet Niklaus is asked to call the main police number 295-0011.”
Update: A Government spokesperson said, “The Ministry of National Security is urging residents in Southampton, Sandys and Warwick parishes to thoroughly check their backyards and surrounding areas for any signs of 70-year-old Janet Niklaus, last seen on Friday, August 30th, walking west on Middle Road in Southampton.”
National Security Minister Michael Weeks stated: “We are deeply concerned for Ms Niklaus’s well-being and urge everyone in the community to assist in the search effort.
“Please check your properties and report any information to the Bermuda Police Service immediately on 295-0011”.
