Second Arrest In Connection With Shooting
A second man has now been arrested in connection with the firearm incident that occurred on August 24th, the police have confirmed.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, the Bermuda Police Service [BPS] continued Operation Athelstan, which is the BPS response to the police shooting that occurred on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
“A second man has now been arrested in connection with this firearm incident. A Southampton residence was also searched by police officers, and further items seized.”
Detective Superintendent Sherwin Joseph, the Senior Investigating Officer for Operation Athelstan stated, “The continued support from the community has been crucial to this investigation.
“I continue to appeal to persons living in the areas of Random Lane, Lusher Hill, Spice Hill, Pearman’s Hill, Camp Hill, Horseshoe Road, Scenic Heights, South Avenue and Riviera Road to contact us should you recall any suspicious activity taking place between 10:00 p.m. on Friday, August 23rd, 2024, and 4:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2024.
“Please check your CCTV cameras for anyone who seemed out of place, whether walking, or on a motorcycle within that time frame. No matter how insignificant you may believe this sighting to be, please contact us.”
