Video: FDM Announce Marc Bean As Candidate
[Updating] The Free Democratic Movement [FDM] is holding a press conference this morning [Sept 4] and we will have additional coverage later on and in the meantime the live video is below.
Update: The FDM announced that Marc Bean will be their candidate for the Constituency 36 Sandys North by-election. There will be at least four candidates in this by-election, as in addition to Mr Bean, Carl Neblett is the OBA’s candidate, Dr. Emily Gail Dill is the PLP’s candidate and independent Cire Bean will also stand.
Mr Bean, who is the current leader of the FDM and also the former leader of the PLP and a former MP, ran in this seat in the 2020 General Election, where he placed second in a three way race.
In 2020, the PLP’s Kathy Lightbourne-Simmons — who recently resigned prompting this by-election — won the seat with 59.04% of the vote, the FDM’s Marc Bean was second with 25.34% of the vote and the OBA’s Jeff Sousa was third with 15.62% of the vote.
The Constituency 36 Sandys North by-election will be held on October 4th.
