Bermuda Face Brazil In Final Pool Match
The Bermuda women’s national hockey team face Brazil in a must-win match in the Women’s Pan American Challenge at the National Sports Centre today [September 27].
Coach Kovin Moodley’s side have one point from three games heading into their final round-robin pool game and need to beat Brazil to stand a chance of playing Guyana or Paraguay in the bronze medal play-off match tomorrow.
Bermuda and Brazil are both winless in the competition with one point each and play at 6 pm [BDA time].
Moodley’s side earned a point against Guyana; meanwhile, Brazil picked up a point against Paraguay.
In today’s earlier match, Mexico take on Guyana at 3.45 pm.
Mexico, the pre-tournament favourites, have already secured their spot in the final after three successive wins.
The challenge winner will advance to the Women’s Pan American Cup in Montevideo, Uruguay, next summer.
