Cross-Country Season Starts At Arboretum
The Bermuda National Athletics Association [BNAA] Cross-Country season gets underway with the Swan’s Running Club’s mat the Arboretum tomorrow at 8.30 am [September 28].
There will be race group categories from under-10 and under-12 [1 to 1.5-miles]; under-14 [1.5 to 2 miles]; under-17 [2 to 2.5 miles]; and under-20 [2.5 to 3 miles].
The open category for 20 to 39-year-olds is 2.5 to 3 miles for females and 5 to 5.5 miles for males.
Those who compete in the masters [40 to 49], senior masters [50 to 59], and those aged 60 and above will run a 2.5 to 3-mile course.
The series winner will be the athlete who accumulates the most points [male and female] in each age group, with the top three in each category awarded prizes.
The five-race series continues with the Mid Atlantic Association Club meet two at Fort Scaur in Sandys on October 12.
The National Cross-Country Championships will be held at Government House on Saturday, December 7.
