Dame Flora Duffy Ready For T100 Ibiza
Dame Flora Duffy is gearing up for her first race in the T100 Triathlon World Tour in Ibiza, Spain.
The five-time Olympian will compete in the fifth leg of the eight-race series on the Mediterranean island from September 28 to 29.
Among the contracted women’s triathletes on the start list for Ibiza are Ashleigh Gentle, of Australia, Lucy Charles-Barclay, of Britain, and Taylor Spivey and Taylor Knibb, of the United States.
For Duffy, it will be her first outing since finishing fifth at the Olympic Games in Paris in July.
Jointly launched by the Professional Triathletes Organisation [PTO] and governing body World Triathlon, the T100 features eight 100-kilometre races and include a prize pot worth $7 million, with each race having a $250,000 prize fund, including $25,000 for the winner.
The races, aimed at Ironman-distance and Olympic-distance triathletes, will comprise a 2km swim, 80km bike, and 18km, lasting around three hours.
“Hello TT bike! It’s been a while,” Duffy wrote on social media. “A few short weeks to get reacquainted before T100 Ibiza. [The last time I rode my TT bike was October 2022].
“Excited and daunting at the same time. I’m learning that TT position is a constantly evolving process and there is always something to upgrade … my bike is currently at the shop getting a front end upgrade.”
