DeSilva-Andrade Places 4th At Paralympics
[Updated] Yushae DeSilva-Andrade has concluded competing at the 2024 Paralympics, finishing in a very impressive 4th place position.
The 30-year-athlete won a match to advance out of the preliminaries, won the quarter-final to advance to the semi-final where she was very narrowly defeated in a game that went to a tie-breaker. She concluded her competition today having made it all the way to the bronze medal match, where she was defeated by Japan’s Hiromi Endo.

Update: “I’m very proud of my performances,” DeSilva-Andrade told Bernews. “When I started competing [at the Paralympics] in Rio [in 2016], I never thought I’d make it this far. I’m so happy.
“I’d like to thank everyone who has been supporting and following me and giving me words of encouragement.
“The experience has been awesome. I’m happy to be here and glad to have had the opportunity.”
