BTA’s Art Month To Showcase Cultural Events

October 1, 2024 | 0 Comments

The Bermuda Tourism Authority’s second annual Art Month in October will showcase Bermuda’s vibrant arts scene through cultural events, exhibitions, and special hotel deals for art lovers.

A spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Tourism Authority [BTA] is excited to announce the second annual Art Month, running throughout October. This celebration puts a spotlight on Bermuda’s vibrant culture, offering unique artistic experiences that go beyond the island’s traditional sun, sand, and sea attractions.”

“Art Month is part of the BTA’s strategic efforts to position Bermuda as a year-round tourism destination by highlighting attractions and authentic cultural assets that appeal to a core traveller, the cultural enthusiast,” Tashae Thompson, VP of Experiences at BTA, continued. “Visitors are increasingly seeking out art and cultural experiences, and we’ve been actively marketing these offerings alongside travel packages. We are excited about the many offerings available to travelers during October, making it easier than ever for them to explore Bermuda’s vibrant creative scene.”

The spokesperson said, “This year, Art Month will be promoted to international visitors through special travel packages from four participating hotels, offering discounts of 20–35% to encourage art enthusiasts to explore Bermuda’s cultural landscape. These packages complement the month-long festivities and provide visitors with immersive opportunities to experience the island’s thriving creative scene.

“Bermuda’s Art Month was launched earlier this summer with a high-profile activation, “Paint the Town Pink,” in New York City, featuring installations by local artists Shanna Hollis, Alshante Foggo, and Nhuri Bashir in high-traffic areas. The initiative was further promoted through the Travel & Leisure platform, and during a sales mission in Philadelphia, featuring artist Carlos Santana, targeting travel advisors and meeting planners.
