City’s Christmas Window Decorating Contest
Hamilton businesses are invited to join the 2024 Christmas Window Decorating Contest.
A spokesperson said, “‘Tis the season…to be creative! Hamilton businesses are invited to put their best festive foot forward and help spread some holiday cheer this Christmas by entering our 2024 Christmas Window Decorating Contest. The contest offers a chance for local shops to bring a touch of holiday magic to Hamilton, with awesome prizes awarded to the winners.”
“Our goal is to create an inviting and joyful atmosphere across the City, encouraging residents and visitors to explore local shops and support our businesses during the holiday season,” said the City’s Senior Marketing Coordinator, Sideya Dill. “By showcasing the creativity of our community, the contest not only enhances the festive cityscape but also plays a key role in driving local spending, bringing people into the city, and boosting the economic impact for businesses of all sizes.
“In past contests, we’ve seen incredible creativity and dedication from participants, and it’s always inspiring to see how each business brings its vision to life. Over the last few years, the number of participants has increased steadily, and this year we’re hoping to have more than 30 businesses take part.”
The spokesperson said, “There are two categories:
- Best Christmas Window 2024 [selected by a panel of industry-relevant judges]
- People’s Choice [selected by the general public through a City-hosted voting process]
“Each participating business can only enter one window into the contest and must display the window decorating participation notice issued by the City of Hamilton in their window before the opening of voting.
The prizes are as follows:
Best Christmas Window 2024
- $1,000 BELCO Gift Voucher
- $1,000 Donation to the Charity of the Winner’s Choice
- A Video Advertisement produced by the City of Hamilton
- A Social Media Feature
- A Dedicated Media Release from the City
People’s Choice
- $500 Masters Gift Certificate
- $500 Donation to the Charity of the Winner’s Choice
- A Social Media Feature
- A Dedicated Media Release from the City
“Businesses must be located within City limits to be eligible for entry into the contest. The window decorating must be completed by Tuesday, December 3rd at 5:00 PM and must remain in place at least until Wednesday, December 18th, 2024.
“All participating windows will be professionally photographed for judging between 6:00 PM on Tuesday, December 3rd and noon on Thursday, December 5th. Voting and judging will take place between Friday, December 6th and Monday, December 16th, 2024. The winners will be announced on Tuesday, December 17th, 2024.
