Khano Smith’s Rhode Island Beat Rowdies
Khano Smith’s Rhode Island won their third straight match after defeating the Tampa Bay Rowdies 3-1 at home in the United Soccer League [USL] Championship yesterday [October 5].
Zachary Herivaux gave the home side the lead in the 22nd before Noah Fuson doubled their lead in the 69th minute.
Manuel Arteaga pulled a goal back for the Rowdies; however, JJ Williams restored Rhode Island’s two-goal advantage after scoring in the 85th minute.
Smith, a former Bermuda and New England Revolution winger, was appointed as head coach and general manager of Rhode Island in March last year.
Rhode Island, fifth in the Eastern Group, are at home to Loudoun United on Sunday [October 13].
