[Updated] The Progressive Labour Party [PLP] is holding their annual Delegates Conference this evening [Oct 23] at St. Paul A.M.E. Church, Centennial Hall, under the theme ‘The Power of One.’
PLP Party Chair Dawn Simmons previously said, “‘The Power of One’ reminds us that while individual contributions may seem small, together they create powerful change. Every member and every supporter of the PLP plays a crucial role in driving the Party forward and building a fairer Bermuda for all of us.”

Our Premier referred to the “combined opposition” of the One Bermuda Alliance, the Free Democratic Movement and a new wave of independent candidates.
How very appropriate that the theme is “The Power of One”. Just replace “One” with “Burt”.

The above quote from the PLP Chairperson is completely untrue. Bermudians are leaving the island in drove, the PLP gentrification to foreign wealthy ownership has priced Bermudians out of their own country. Droves of cheap foreign labour have been allowed to take over the island.
Yes the PLP are trying to spend more money than they have again with promises to put temporary bandaids on us desperate Bermudians with handouts…Welcome to the fool line food line , i’ll see you there in the queue.
Change? Yes please. Fairer Bermuda? Yes please. We need all of you to go to get those things. This island has never been in such poor shape in my lifetime and it’s due to the PLP. Time to go!

Spent most of the time on same old complaints about the airport, AC, Morgan’s Point. Not a word about the revenue generated by the $100m plus “investment” in Bermudiana Beach (will it open?). Not a word on the costs of the new hospital wing, that is unfit for its purpose, or the taxpayer funded benefits given to Gencom, when Bermudians have to pay all taxes etc for building or renovating their own property.
Maybe he should spend less time in Tuckers Town rubbing shoulders with his rich white friends and help Bermudians instead.

Does being billions of dollars in debt qualify?
Airport saved and saves Bermuda money on a daily basis, those minimum revenue guarantees during COVID would have been paid in another form and in a greater amount as the costs of running a Burt Airport would still have to be paid by the government during those COVID months (unless the government made people redundant and made the airport non-operational), Government would also be paying interest on debt of over $400million each year. (there is no debt on the airport that we have to pay)
The PLP argument on the airport is false, and based on blind emotion and assumes people are ignorant. Show the PLP you are not ignorant.
You really just cant make this up , burt is better than david copperfield he made all of the failures his government has made over the last 25 years dissappear…………….and tried to hang some of them on the OBA ..for example Morgans Point the failure started with plp forcing them to that location after first giving them Southlands then flip flop sending them west to land that had to be cleaned from all of the Navy oil and whatever. Millions it cost to clean and delays to boot. What happened to the millions the US government gave them to clean the land ???? Selective memory plp Hospital costs us the taxpayer 10 times over the airport and we continue to pay and will pay for a verry verry long time

PLP triggered the guarantee, by not supporting the Mogans point project. PLP though they would get all the land for the cost of the guarantee, but they only got Caroline Bay. It was another PLP mess up.
A fiarer Bermuda for us all. Now that’s rich coming from them. A complete joke.
A movie titled The American President starring Michael Douglas was released in 1995. Brilliantly written and acted, at the end Michael Douglas delivers a powerful speech that captures exactly what is happening here (and the USA). “Making you afraid of it and saying who’s to blame for it” is how you win elections. A movie well worth watching.
Here it used by the PLP by telling voters that they are held back because of the past, race and the combined opposition. Nothing to do with running on the PLP’s success story since 1998 because there isn’t one. Fear and blame while the PLP elite line their pockets.
Iam surprised that building did not float away , with all that hot air in it!! Lol
